Spirtual healing for the broken hearts --- Part two

In the previous blog, it was discussed that the heart breakers cannot be healed except by the help of ALLAH ALMIGHTY. In this blog, though, the readers will explore how ALLAH guides people to get healed by their pain (of heart break), and to achieve their inner peace of heart. For such purpose, one might need a guiding tool suggested by ALLAH ALMIGHTY. This guiding tool is Quran, as ALLAH ALMIGHTY says:

"O mankind! There has come to you an instruction (Quran) from your Lord, a cure for whatever (disease) is in your hearts, a guidance and a blessing for the true believers" (Al-Quran 10: 57)

"We (ALLAH) have revealed the Qur'an which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, while to the wrongdoers it adds nothing but loss" (Al-Quran 17: 82)

Thus, one should know that the cure of his/her heart break disease is mentioned in Quran. All the questions in his/her mind can be answered instead of being ignored. Let’s begin to know how:

All of the human being live in a present state of life. However, the present state is linked by people past deeds. As mentioned by ALLAH ALMIGHTY:

                Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds” (in past life) (Al-Quran 74: 38)

So, if you’re in a heartbroken state, then ALLAH gave you the idea to evaluate yourself first whether it is due to your wrong deeds in the past. See the scenario below:

Mr. B had a broke-up with his girlfriend. Due to this, he lost his inner peace of heart and don’t know what to do next. He read Quran and decided to evaluate himself. While doing so, he observed more deeply in to Quran until he found the verse in which ALLAH says;

“Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road” (to other evils) (Al-Quran 17: 32)

Previous to this, he was blaming his ex-girlfriend for his present life condition, but now he realized the more powerful reason. Had he followed the guidelines of ALLAH ALMIGHTY earlier, the inner peace of his heart would not disturb.

Once someone truly realizes the core reason for his/her inner peace loss, he/she might feel embarrassed for being wronged. His/her vision to see the issue might broaden then limited to blaming somebody who hurt him/her in the past. He/she might frequently ask him/herself what to do next. Does ALLAH ALMIGHTY will still have a mercy on him/her? See what ALLAH says to such people:

Allah accepts the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and repent soon afterwards; to them will Allah turn in mercy: For Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom” (Al-Quran 4: 17)

The above verse of Quran proves that one must repent first to receive the mercy of ALLAH ALMIGHTY. In other words, repentance is the key to open the door of ALLAH’s mercy. One can now feel that the link between him/her and ALLAH ALMIGHTY is connected. The more he/she cries for the forgiveness of his/her sins, the more the link will be powerful. Continuing with the scenario of Mr.B:

After realizing his past sin, Mr. B decided to repent. He cried so much before ALLAH ALMIGHTY and asked for mercy. Such remembrance provided him with an instant satisfaction inside his heart. He wondered this miracle of ALLAH and turn back to read Quran until found the reason behind such. ALLAH says:

"Those who believe, and whose hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah: for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction” (Al-Quran 13: 28)

In the above verse of Quran, one must observe that only a believer can find the inner peace of heart by the remembrance of ALLAH ALMIGHTY. If one starts losing his/her belief then even the remembrance of ALLAH doesn’t help him to find his inner peace of heart. Continuing with the scenario of Mr.B:

Mr. B starts practicing the remembrance of ALLAH ALMIGHTY more frequently now. However, soon he observed that his heartbreak feelings are coming back by the same intensity. Such situation makes him sad again and he starts thinking that ALLAH ALMIGHTY no more hears and takes knowledge of him. Now even the remembrance of ALLAH ALMIGHTY feels no satisfaction inside his heart. He is about to quit, but somehow found these verses in the Quran;

Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. Do those who practice evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment! For those whose hopes are in the meeting with Allah (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by Allah is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things)” (Al-Quran 29: 2, 3, 4, 5)

Most of the heartbreakers lose their way at this critical point. They start being shaken in their belief and doesn’t realize that their actual success is only one simple test away. The question is why people start losing their belief? Is it any force that can influence their thoughts negatively? Yes, this force is called devil (Shaytan). ALLAH ALMIGHTY says:

Satan (devil) makes them promises, and creates in them false desires; but satan’s promises are nothing but deception” (Al-Quran 4: 120)

Say to My servants that they should (only) say those things that are best: for Satan doth sow dissensions among them: For Satan is to man an avowed enemy” (Al-Quran 17: 53)

And on them did Satan prove true his idea, and they followed him, all but a party that believed” (Al-Quran 34:20)

Relate to them the story of the man to whom we sent our signs, but he passed them by: so Satan followed him up, and he went astray” (Al-Quran 7: 175)

O ye who believe! follow not satan's footsteps: if any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is shameful and wrong: and were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, not one of you would ever have been pure: but Allah doth purify whom He pleases: and Allah is One Who hears and knows” (all things) (Al-Quran 24: 21)

From the above verses, it is clear that shaytan (satan or Devil) is the biggest enemy, who doesn’t want you to pass the test by ALLAH ALMIGHTY. Satan promises you to guide for the right way, but in actual, its way has no ultimate destiny except towards hell. On the other hand, the way of ALLAH ALMIGHTY might be a bit hard at the beginning, but the destiny is guaranteed. All required is to pass a simple test of belief. How? ALLAH ALMIGHTY guides us in Quran:

#1; seek the help of ALLAH ALMIGHTY, so that he will make the test easier for you;

And that Allah may help thee with powerful help” (Al-Quran 48: 3)

When comes the Help of Allah, and Victory” (Al-Quran 110: 1)

Allah made it but a message of hope, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah: and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise” (Al-Quran 8: 10)

 With the help of Allah. He helps whom He will, and He is exalted in might, most merciful” (Al-Quran 30: 5)

If Allah helps you, none can overcome you: If He forsakes you, who is there, after that, that can help you? in Allah, then, Let believers put their trust” (Al-Quran 3: 160)

If they refuse, be sure that Allah is your Protector - the best to protect and the best to help” (Al-Quran 8:40)

 Nay, Allah is your protector, and He is the best of helpers” (Al-Quran 3: 150)

If any think that Allah will not help him (His Messenger) in this world and the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and cut (himself) off: then let him see whether his plan will remove that which enrages” (him)! (Al-Quran 22: 15)

But Allah hath full knowledge of your enemies: Allah is enough for a protector, and Allah is enough for a Helper” (Al-Quran 4: 45)

In Quran, ALLAH ALMIGHTY even mentioned that how a believer can seek his help;

O ye who believe! seek help with patient perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere” (Al-Quran 2: 153)

Nay, seek (Allah's) help with patient perseverance and prayer: It is indeed hard, except to those who bring a lowly spirit” (Al-Quran 2: 45)

How simple is that the ALLAH’s help can be achieved through only two things (prayer and patience). However, one should observe that both should be running the same. One should keep on praying for the help of ALLAH ALMIGHTY and wait for the reward with patience. As ALLAH ALMIGHTY says;

And be steadfast in patience; for verily Allah will not suffer the reward of the righteous to perish” (Al-Quran 11: 115)

"I have rewarded them this Day for their patience and constancy: they are indeed the ones that have achieved Bliss..." (Al-Quran 23: 111)

And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune” (Al-Quran 41: 35)

But indeed if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs” (Al-Quran 42: 43)

If only they had patience until thou couldst come out to them, it would be best for them: but Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (Al-Quran 49: 5)

Bear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting” (Al-Quran 50: 39)

                Regarding prayers, ALLAH ALMIGHTY says;

The prayer that man should make for good, he maketh for evil; for man is given to hasty (deeds)” (Al-Quran 17: 11)

But after them there followed a posterity who missed prayers and followed after lusts soon, then, will they face Destruction” (Al-Quran 19: 59)

Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do” (Al-Quran 29: 45)

#2; prepare yourself against shaytan (satan or devil) as per the instruction given in Quran;

                Continuously read Quran and seek protection of ALLAH ALMIGHTY;

When thou dost read the Quran, seek Allah's protection from Satan the rejected one” (Al-Quran 16: 98)

Shaytan has the power to reach your mind and create wrong thought i.e. lust, fear, anger etc. Seek refuge of ALLAH ALMIGTY and avoid those thoughts;

If a suggestion from Satan assail thy (mind), seek refuge with Allah; for He heareth and knoweth” (all things) (Al-Quran 7: 200)

Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see” (aright)! (Al-Quran 7: 201)

But Satan whispered evil to him: he said, "O Adam! shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?" (Al-Quran 20: 120)

#3; know that the patience can only be achieved if a person remains faithful, righteous, truthful and constant. Otherwise, he/she will still be in loss. As ALLAH ALMITY says;

By (the Token of) Time (through the ages), Verily Man is in loss, Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy” (Al-Quran 103: 1, 2, 3)

Let’s take the practical example from the world. Suppose that you are a football player and got injured seriously during the play. Now under you extreme body pain, a) you faith is that the time will come when you will get healed by the mercy of ALLAH ALMIGHTY, b) your righteousness is to avoid the deed that can disturb your body wounds, c) your truthfulness is when you truly follow the doctor’s advice, and d) and your constancy is being steady in cure (e.g. taking medicine and bandage etc.) until complete heal. During the entire period of heal, the pain will surely remain till the end (although, will reduce by the time as the healing take process), but if you are following all four conditions, only then, bearing your pain with patience can be gainful to you. Otherwise, you will remain in loss and your wounds will remain painful even for a lifetime.

Similar to the above example, if you feel that your peace of heart is lost due to inner wounds of hurt, the pain will remain until your wounds can be healed entirely. However, one should be clear that the only curer of such wounds is ALLAH ALMIGHTY, therefore; a) your faith should be to that the time will come when you will get healed by your inner wounds with the mercy of ALLAH ALMIGHTY (the only curer), b) you righteousness should be to avoid the wrong deed (e.g. friendship of girls, romantic movies/songs, club parties etc.) that can lead again towards inclination towards the same sin, c) Your truthfulness should be to truly follow the instructions in Quran, and d) and your constancy should be to remain steady in cure until your inner wounds get completely healed. Over fulfillment of all these four condition, your patience (to bear the inner pain) will remain profitable (not in loss); otherwise, you inner wounds will get more disturbed (probably due to this reason, many people start believing that their inner wounds can never be healed).

4#; the most dejected feelings for a broken hearted person is when he/she thinks that there is no way to move in the life. Such feelings make him/her depressed and lazy. Even one step forwards seem a difficult task. The life remains just a matter of taking breath only. See how ALLAH ALMIGHTY makes such people relief by saying;

Despair not of the Mercy of Allah” (Al-Quran 39: 53)

                Never lose hope;

Allah made it but a message of hope, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah: and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise” (Al-Quran 8: 10)

                Put you trust on ALLAH ALMIGHTY;

And put thy trust in Allah, and enough is Allah as a disposer of affairs” (33: 3)

Allah! There is no god but He: and on Allah, therefore, let the Believers put their trust” (Al-Quran 64: 13)

"No reason have we why we should not put our trust on Allah. Indeed He has guided us to the Ways we (follow). We shall certainly bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us. For those who put their trust should put their trust on Allah" (Al-Quran 14: 12)

One of the reasons for having a no-way-out feeling is that the heartbreaker fears that he/she might not get the destiny of his/her own dreams (e.g. getting married to the one whom he/she loved). In actual, though, the destiny should be to receive good by the mercy of ALLAH ALMIGHTY. As he say;

It is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and you know not” (Al-Quran 2: 216)

Have a trust on ALLAH ALMIGHTY that when the good will come to you then you will experience that the feelings you had in the life were just the whisper (of fear) in your mind by Saytan (Devil). The reward of your fear to ALLAH ALMIGHTY (instead of fear to Shaytan) is way more above your expectation. The holy prophet (S.A.W) said that whosoever leaves something for the sake of Allah then Allah, the Mighty and Magnificent, will replace it with something better than it [Tuhfah al-Ashra" (11/199)]

Fear ALLAH ALMIGHTY only, the way is promised;

"Whoever fears Allah, Allah will find a way out for him (from every difficulty) and He will provide for him from sources that he could never have imagined” (Al-Quran 65: 2, 3)
